I've been a Meraki MX user since Nov '14 and I think it's a great product but it lacked a community for it's users to collaborate on the direction we want the product to go in with new features. I want this to get the attention of Meraki and hopefully they'll join us in implementing these features.

1/4/16 Update: Meraki has begun responding to various posts!

Right now this site running on the free version of UserEcho so it doesn't have some features I'd like it to have (such as tagging).

Allow for Azure AD login writhin splash pages, like you do for google

Jon C 2 years ago 0

Why can we not login to a wifi SSID using Oauth/SAML to Azure AD. This has been setup for google as a "third party" but there has been no development on this for much more popular vendors such as Azure.

Can you please develop this moving forward?

There is talk about this within the Meraki community going as far back as 2019 - Azure AD authentication on Meraki WiFi - The Meraki Community but still no progress. It baffles the mind as to why Facebook/Google login would be prioritized over Azure AD?

MANY:MANY NAT and Address Groups.

dlamon 7 years ago 0

For the MX security appliances would like the option to have a Many to Many NAT. Also would like to have a feature request to use Address Groups similar to how Sonicwall handles them.  Multiple Public IP's or range of Public IP's to multiple internal IP's.

Port mirroring on firewalls

The firewalls should have a port mirroring feature.  Because this feature didn't exist it made troubleshooting an intermittent internet outage difficult to troubleshoot.  I had to plug in another device between my ISP and my Z1.

Display up time percentages of WAN connections

I'd like my WAN connections to show me their various up times expressed as a percentage over a certain period of time.

Improved use of Brightcloud reputation service

Rob Geoghan 9 years ago 0
With the advanced license you get content filtering which checks Brightcloud's database but the Meraki implementation of it is fairly limited.
Yesterday a spam message got through with a link to a domain that came up as suspicious according to (http://www.brightcloud.com/tools/url-ip-lookup.php) This link wasn't blocked by the MX.  The MX should have the ability to make settings that are based on that tools various reporting results.  The URL in question was 0 months old.  To me that's a huge red flag that you shouldn't visit the site.  I'd like to block "new" domains like this.

Ability to set WAN DNS servers with a dynamic WAN IP

Rob Geoghan 9 years ago 0
This is pretty minor but should be easy enough to implement. If you have a dynamic WAN IP from your ISP you can't currently set static DNS servers for the WAN interface.

Ability to search the event logs across all (multiple) networks

Rob Geoghan 9 years ago 0
If you want to search the event logs you can only do this across one network at a time.  You should be able to do this across all or multiple networks.

ISP subscribed bandwidth monitor

Rob Geoghan 9 years ago 0
The MX should do regular performance tests to make sure that the bandwidth claims from the ISP is accurate.  I once had a scenario that where one of my 3 bonded T1s was down for months and it went unnoticed.  You'd enter the amount of bandwidth your ISP is supposed to be providing and if that number falls by a certain percentage it should trigger an alert.

Browse test from Meraki on MX.

When setting up various policies for content filtering it would be helpful to have a method of testing these settings.  Barracuda refers to this as a Browse Test.

Improve RMA process with MX devices

Rob Geoghan 9 years ago 0
In my case one of the techs that I worked with reported a problem that indicated an RMA should be issued but the tech wasn't the owner of the case so he couldn't issue an RMA. It would also be nice if the RMA device came preloaded with the proper configuration to make the swap more seamless. The method I used was a little cumbersome and some non-essential details weren't copied over. An example of such is name of the device and notes in the appliance status page.
